About

Allison Shefcyk is a Connecticut-based artist and illustrator. As a child, she was an avid doodler who wanted to be either an animator or an archaeologist when she grew up.

After earning her BA at Mount Holyoke College and MA at the University of Connecticut, Allison pursued a career in disability advocacy. She decided to return to art by enrolling in the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Continuing Education Program in 2024. She is influenced by sources such as Art Nouveau, pen-and-ink illustration, and graphic novels. Allison uses her drawings to find stories and beauty in everyday life.

When not drawing, Allison enjoys reading speculative fiction and graphic novels, as well as spending time with her two parrots Calvin and Nugget.
